The new coronavirus spreads

The new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) spreads in the world. There is no vaccine for this virus, and it is causing an outbreak of respiratory illness. In Japan, the infection started at the end of January, and there are 175 infected people as of February 27th. (The number does not include the infected people on the cruise ship and Japanese returnees from Wuhan by the charter aircraft).

The Japanese government called for the prevention of infection. Events which many people gather are refrained, and schools will be closed during March. There is concern that it will affect a significant impact on economic activities. Dual-income families face what to do during schools are closed. People in cities are panicked a bit because masks and toilet papers are scarce. The strong anxiety that people have never experienced in their life has been heightening in this situation.

Not only government leadership, municipal and organizational decisions, but also self-controlled individual actions are being asked. I hope that the expansion of infection will converge as soon as possible.
